History and ignition of the engine rebuilt by the Club Moto d'Epoca Fiorentino Lucca, S. Francesco - May 21 at 10 am (IN ITALIAN)
170 years after the ignition of the first internal combustion engine designed and built by the two scientists from Lucca, Eugenio Barsanti and Felice Matteucci, a group of enthusiasts belonging to the CMEF, Club Moto d’Epoca Fiorentino, has succeeded in the feat of reconstructing and making the faithful reproduction of the one patented in 1857 by Barsanti and Matteucci work.
The engine, presented in January of this year at a conference held in Florence in the Salone dei Cinquecento, will be exhibited and put into operation again as part of the event that the Barsanti and Matteucci Foundation is organizing in Lucca, which will also be an opportunity to retrace the history of engines, from the dawn to Barsanti and Matteucci, under the guidance of expert professors from the Universities of Pisa and Florence. The event is free and open to the public. For information and contacts: Fondazione Barsanti e Matteucci
