Final Concert | The Popular Orchestra and the Dancers of the Notte della Taranta

The Notte della Taranta is one of the most significant international festivals dedicated to popular musical culture. It takes place during the month of August in Salento and aims to protect and enhance traditional Salento music in its encounter with the different languages ​​of contemporaneity. The Popular Orchestra La Notte della Taranta was founded in 2004 and has since then become a formidable instrument for promoting the “pizzica” and the musical and choreographic heritage it represents. For the Lucca concert, the Orchestra will pay homage, thanks to some original arrangements, to Luigi Boccherini and the dancing spirit that distinguishes much of his music as well as being a symbol of the fruitful relationship that tradition has always had with “classical” music, inspiring and innervating its writing.
