An experiential experience between psychiatry, literature and art. Scenic-musical story. Emotional and immersive narrative in the history of the Lucca mental hospital.

On the occasion of the centenary of the birth of Franco Basaglia, the commemorative itinerary inside the former Maggiano Psychiatric Hospital returns, conceived and conducted by the psychiatrist Enrico Marchi and Michela Panigada, curated by MT6-ART GROUP.

Nine monthly appointments, from March to December 2024, including Tobinian readings, scenic and artistic animations, musical performances linked to the theme of madness and the artistic experiences of psychosocial rehabilitation carried out in Maggiano in the 1960s.

A walk through time to deepen our knowledge of a now forgotten historical memory, the figures of Mario Tobino and prof. Lippi Francesconi, the good practices of assistance and care of the psychiatric workers of Maggiano in the pre-Basaglia era.

There are many places to visit along the route: the "Rooms with a view of humanity" museum, the management courtyard, the cloister of the well, the medieval cloisters of the female and male division, the art therapy room, the ancient stairs, the church, the cinema, the dormitory and the kitchens.
