“Music is Metamorphosis” the Animando review restarts with the musical “Evolutions” in homage to Kafka on the centenary of his death.
The Autumn program offers five new events designed to offer a reflection on the evolutionary power of music: through different eras and genres the audience lives a refined and engaging musical experience. A fascinating program to celebrate ten years of activity of Animando.
The program:
Sunday, November 10 , at 6 pm at the Real Collegio, with “New horizons for two pianos - transcriptions and paraphrases through time” , an event that will feature pianists Claudio Cantini and Giovanni Passalia engaged in a journey between Mozart/Grieg, with arrangements by Morricone and the Beatles by Mauro Fabbri and Ilio Barontini . The musical journey of the piano duo opens with a singular interpretation of a Mozart sonata: in a unique arrangement, one of the pianos will perform the original Mozart part, while the other will accompany with a harmonized version on themes by Grieg, as if this musical dialogue crossed time.

Friday, November 15 , at 9 pm at the Cinema Moderno , with a show entitled “An Opportunity - Show for Organ, String Orchestra and Reciting Voices“ , in collaboration with the Croce Verde. “An Opportunity”, an unpublished text by Andrea Benedetti , already awarded at the “Giuseppe Bepo Maffioli” Contemporary Drama Prize, tells the story of the NASA rover “Opportunity”, which left for Mars in 2003.
Its story has moved the world. From January 2004 to February 2019, it has constantly sent photos, videos, data, and precious information, allowing humanity to get to know the red planet more closely. In 15 years, a real relationship has been created with this strange artificial creature. After a thousand adventures, in 2019 it sent its last message: two numbers (22 and 10.8) that indicate respectively the impossibility of recharging the batteries and the opacity value of the atmosphere. Scientists have translated it as "My battery is low, it's getting dark", the farewell of an old friend who after many moments spent together, finally leaves us.
This journey will be told at the Cinema Moderno with the strings of the Orchestra Sinfonica della Versilia conducted by Stefano Teani, the organ of Niccolò Bartolini , the narrative voices of Nicola Fanucchi and Cristina Puccinelli and the video projections edited by Domenico Catano . The program includes music from Albinoni to Respighi , with famous pieces such as Interstellar by Hans Zimmer.
Admission to this event is free with a donation.
The review will continue on Sunday 24 November , at 6 pm at the Real Collegio , with “Promenade - Musical walk on the Parisian boulevards, between the Belle Époque and the early twentieth century” , an evening dedicated to French music performed by violinist Alessio Bidoli and pianist Bruno Canino . The music of Poulenc, Messiaen, Ravel and Saint-Saëns will offer a glimpse of Paris in those years.

On Sunday 15 December , at 6 pm at the Auditorium del Suffragio , Animando will celebrate its tenth anniversary with a concert by the Orchestra Nuove Assonanze , conducted by Alan Freiles Magnatta , and with the Coro di Montughi conducted by Enrico Rotoli . The programme includes works by Fauré and the two Giacomo Puccinis, the "Senior" and the "Junior".

On Sunday 22 December , at 9pm at the Real Collegio, the festival will close with the “ Christmas Concert ” featuring Valentina Scheldhofen Ciardelli on the double bass and Alvaro Siculiana on the piano in a repertoire that ranges from Bottesini to Ciardelli, Elfman, Puccini, Zappa, also including traditional Christmas songs.
