See you on May 4, 2025, from 3:00 p.m., in Piazza del Giglio Lucca, April 29, 2025 - The City of Lucca and Lucca Comics & Games celebrate the Star Wars saga and all the imagery that arose from the fantasy world created by director George Lucas, in what is now recognized by fans around the world as Star Wars Day. The event will be on May 4, 2025 in Piazza del Giglio (in the historic center of Lucca), which will become a real base for the events set in the imaginary “Galaxy far, far away…”, thanks to over 60 “costumers” who impersonate the militias of the rebels and the Empire. The date is not a coincidence: for years, in fact, fans of the film saga have elected May 4th as the day dedicated to Star Wars, thanks to a play on words, in fact, the greeting that the protagonists of the beloved series exchange, namely: “May the Force (be with you)”, “May the Force (be with you)” becomes: “May the Fourth”, or “the 4th of May”.

Thanks to the Municipality of Lucca and Lucca Crea, “Star Wars day” will be celebrated in Lucca Comics & Games style, calling all the most important Italian and international official groups of the Saga to the city, who will give life to the much-loved characters, and thanks to the collaboration of the musicians of the “L. Boccherini” Conservatory orchestra, there will also be the opportunity to listen to the soundtrack and the music that accompanied the highlights of Luke Skywalker and the other protagonists, composed by the composer John Williams. Already in the morning, in the “Star Wars” area set up in Piazza del Giglio, an “X-Wing” space fighter will land, a symbol of the saga in itself, and in the afternoon you will be able to meet the official Italian Groups and take “galactic selfies” with the much-loved characters and with the X-Wing, take part in lightsaber lessons thanks to the “padawan school” of Saber Guild and maybe be recruited.

The day's program includes at 3 pm the parade of the most beloved characters of the Saga through the streets of the historic center, giving life to a grand parade themed Star Wars with numerous costumed figures. The departure is scheduled from the headquarters of Confcommercio Lucca and Massa Carrara in via Fillungo, with arrival in piazza del Giglio, after having traveled via Roma, via Beccheria and via San Girolamo.

In Piazza del Giglio, it will be possible to freely participate in the lessons of the “padawan school”, while at 8 pm there will be a gathering for the group photo of the “lightsabers”, open to all enthusiasts, in front of the Teatro del Giglio Giacomo Puccini, organized by Rebel Legion.

Also present in the square is the Unicef ​​Stand with the famous pigotte and the life-size R2KT droid, organized by R2KT Italia.
