On 13- & 20 October, the Chestnut Festival returns to Azzano di Seravezza (LU) just 48 minutes from Lucca. Once again the small Apuan village will celebrate its typical products in a festive atmosphere.
In fact, the program of the Chestnut Festival focuses on local gastronomy: the typical specialties of the period are ciacci with ricotta, also known as necci, and roasted chestnuts, which in these parts are called rice welders. Among the other strong dishes there will be tordelli for lunch, not to mention grilled meat, meatballs and potatoes. Everything will obviously be washed down with good wine.
During the day there will also be a market with typical products and crafts, guided tours, music and entertainment for children. The Chestnut Festival is organized as every year by the Azzano Onlus Public Assistance and enjoys the patronage of the Municipality of Seravezza.
